A few unconventional lice treatment options to kill lice

    • Fresh neem leaves for lice

A handful of fresh neem leaves is ground in blended and juice can be extracted. Apply this on head and scalp immediately. Wash it with warm water after about 20 minutes. Repeat this every alternate day for a week. Lice is clear. No proof of this, but it works sometimes.

    • Apply smothering agent to hair

Apply smothering agent like petroleum jelly or mayonnaise to head for several hours. The oily and greasy substance can suffocate lice to death. The dead lice can be combed out roughly. Lice eggs can be picked form hair with nit comb. This can be effective but requires time to show results, also lots of hard work put in to clean the grease out of hair

    • Hair Conditioner to treat lice

Apply heaps of hair conditioner to scalp and to hair strands near scalp. Then comb with a fine toothed nit comb, Wipe the conditioner off and wash it with warm water. Repeat this twice a week. No proven evidence that this works, however one can give a try.

    • Shrink Wrapping to kill lice

On can tightly tie head with shrink wrap. This can suffocate the head lice to death completely. Extra care to be taken when shrink wrapping your kids. Many claim that this stops lice fro breathing and dead lice can be washed away in warm running water. A weird but effective treatment can be tried to see the results.

    • Natural lice treatment oils

Neem oil is one the best lice known lice treatment oils. It kills lice and also destroys nits. Coconut oil due to its greasy nature suffocates head lice and prevents it from falling or spreading. Tea tree oil is another proven natural lice treatment oil. When proportionately blended with neem oil and coconut oil can work wonders. Lice-nil is natural lice treatment oil having these essential oils.

    • Water Dunk head lice

Yes, you read it right - drown the lice. Some research shows that lice don't like water. Lice have claws due to which they can grip on hair strands. So no idea whether, this really works.
